Evaluation of the impact of surfactants on miscibility of griseofulvin in spray dried amorphous solid dispersions

The aim of this contribution is to examine the impact incorporating surfactants into amorphous solid dispersions on state miscibility and aqueous solubility antifungal drug griseofulvin. Spray dried griseofulvin (GF) hypromellose acetate succinate (HPMCAS) were prepared by spray drying. Three different varying ratios between 1 5% used namely anionic sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), cationic dodecyletrimethylammonium bromide (DTAB) non-ionic pluronic (F127). Flory-Huggins model combined with calculations based Hoffman's equation calculate predicted form. results showed that exhibited enhanced drug-polymer reflected improved thermodynamics mixing. highest was achieved when DTAB incorporated which approximately 1.5 times. tendency recrystallize calculated using reduced recrystallization parameter correlated measured saturation showing distinct properties dependent type surfactant.
